Upcoming Events
Fall Session Enrollment
The current
session ends August 20th!
Priority
Registration for members begins Monday, August 8th and ends
Saturday August 13th. Register early before we open to the
public on August 15th.
The Fall
Session is a 12-week session running from
August
22nd through November 12th.
Express Registration for Edge Members!
Take advantage
of our Express Registration process. If you plan to
register for your current class again, you can simply drop an
express registration form in the designated box! The Express
Registration Box will be put out at the front desk starting the
week of August 1st.
Edge will only
hold your spot if you register for it!
Bring-A-Friend Week
Edge Gymnastics welcomes all
currently enrolled students to bring one friend to class the
week of August 8th through 13th. Friends
must be the appropriate age for the class they are attending and
have a waiver turned into the Edge office.
Waivers
must be filled out by their own parent/guardian and can be
picked up at the front office or downloaded from the Edge website
at www.Edge-Gymnastics.com
If anyone
does not have a waiver completed by their parent, they
will not be able to participate.

Edge Academy News
New Class Ratios
Beginning in the Fall 2011
session Edge Gymnastics will be lowering the student to teacher
ratio for all Academy Girls, Boys and Tumbling classes.
Currently there is a 9:1 student/teacher ratio for our Academy
program classes. We will be changing this to an 8:1 ratio.
This change is being made to
improve our students learning in class by giving them more
student to teacher attention and increasing the potential number of
turns they have on equipment. It is our hope that this change
will make our classes run smoother and help our students to better
reach their goals in class each week!

Preschool News
New Gym Babies Class!
Edge is
offering a new Gym Babies Preschool Class for 7-14-month-olds.
Sign-Up at the front desk for Fall Session.
This
parent-participation class is designed for our youngest
students. In this class your baby will play and learn on a
baby-safe obstacle course, enjoy circle time songs and finger play,
eye-hand coordination activities, and strengthening exercises for
crawling, cruising, and walking.

Serena has
been offered a full athletic scholarship to University of
California Berkeley.She had several offers and has decided to
accept, and compete

Bears!
Compulsory Intra-Squad at Edge
This past
Friday, July 29th, Edge Gymnastics Level 5 & Level 6 gymnasts
participated in their intra-squad meet. This is a "mock
meet" where the girls compete their routines and get scored by
accredited judges. Those judges provide feedback to the gymnasts to
prepare them for their season.
This is a
great opportunity for the gymnasts to see all their hard work pay
off and it also helps them identify areas for improvement.
The Compulsory
Team will start their competition season August 20th &
21st in Sacramento.
Be sure to
wish them good luck!

Acro Team News
Edge Earns Gold at Nationals
Nine athletes
from Edge competed at the 2011 Acrobatic Gymnastics National
Championships the week of July 22-27.
The Level 7
Women's Pair (ages 17+) of Madison Singley and Brooke Osborn earned
Edge its first National Gold Medal.
The Level 9
Women's Group (ages 16 under) consisting of Anna Vila, Amanda
Plumer, and Lauren Kadesh brought home a Bronze Medal.
Finishing 11th
and 12th respectively were the Level 7 Women's Pair
(ages 12-14) of Adele Poloziouk and Lauren Viarengo, and the Level
6 Women's Pair (ages 12-14) of Alex Klenetsky and Emily Dunning.
Congratulations
to all who participated!
Try-outs are
underway for the 2011-2012 Acro Team. Interested athletes
should contact Nichole Tilton.

Kids' Night Out
is August 27th
6:00-9:00 p.m.
Your kids will
enjoy a fun evening of free play, challenging obstacle courses and
relay races, rope swing into the foam pit, hide-and-seek in the
dark, charades, gymnastics and much more! Pizza and drinks provided.
