Olympic Trials Exclusive Pre-Sale Tickets Available Through Edge
Discounted tickets for the 2012 Olympic Trials in San Jose are still available through the club ticket sales program. The early bird discount has been extended through January 13th!
Edge has a block of tickets reserved, and the best seats are going fast! After January 13th, these tickets will be released for public sale. To order, print and send in the Club order form to the contact listed on the form. Make sure to fill in "Edge" on the club line.Tickets are currently available to the public, so they will go fast!
Don't miss your chance to see the top United States gymnasts compete for a chance to represent their country at the 2012 Summer Olympics in San Jose, June 28th - July 1st, 2012. The crowing of the U.S.A. Olympic team will take place on site at the trials in San Jose!

What's New at Edge?
Dance Classes at Edge!
In partnership with Studio 8 Dance, Edge is offering dance classes for children of all ages starting with our Winter Session. Classes for children ages 2-1/2 to 5 years old are offered in the mornings, and classes for 5-year-olds and up will be held in the afternoons at Edge in our new dance room!
Classes include Tiny Dancers (Parent Participation), Mini Hip Hoppers, Princess Ballet , Itty Bitty Ballet/Creative Dance, and Itty Bitty Hip Hop/Creative Dance for preschoolers, and Jazz, Jazz/Ballet, and Hip Hop for school-age kids.

New Automatic
Re-enrollmment Program
Edge now offers the option to automatically re-enroll for the following session. You may avoid the hassle of re-enrollment and the risk of losing your spot in your favorite class by signing up for Automatic Re-enrollment!
If you would like to be automatically re-enrolled for your class for the next session, please see the front desk and sign up today! This option will become available for enrollment in our Spring session! |
Edge Policy Change
Notice of Change in Make-up Policy Effective January 1, 2012
Starting January 1, 2012 (Winter Session) Edge Gymnastics will offer make-ups for missed classes in Open Gym only. This policy change is to benefit all of our students by maintaining consistency in each class, preventing distraction, and encouraging the teacher-to-student bond that is so important for your child's progress.
- Open Gym for ages 5 & under is Tuesdays and Fridays 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m., and once a month on Saturday 12:30-1:30 p.m. (usually the first Saturday of the month.)
- Open Gym for ages 6 and up is Friday 7:00-8:30pm and once a month on Saturday 12:30-1:30 p.m. (usually the third Saturday of the month.)
Edge will allow make-ups for up to two missed classes per session in our Open Gym. Open Gym is supervised by Edge's trained coaches.
Our goal is for your child's experience to be as worthwhile and fulfilling as possible. Please contact the office with any further questions or concerns you may have.
Make-ups should be scheduled in advance, please contact the front desk to book your spot!
The first Saturday Open Gym will be held January 7th for ages 5 and under; and on January 21st for ages 6 and up.

Preschool News
With the start of the new year, the preschool program will have a new "theme" added weekly to challenge and educate our young gymnasts.
The "themes" will promote school readiness skills such as learning shapes, colors, holidays, and seasons. Not only will the gymnasts learn gymnastic skills and improve their overall physical fitness, but they will also learn how to socialize with other kids by making new friends, sharing equipment and taking turns.
We are confident that you will notice a positive difference in your child and we welcome any feedback you may have!

Academy News
Edge Olympics
On December 17th we held the 3rd Annual Edge Olympics! 77 students from our Girls and Boys Academy and Developmental Progams participated and it was a great success. Students performed gymnastics routines that they learned in class and they were "judged" by members of our Edge compulsory girls team.
We would like to give a big Thank You to all of the participants and judges!

Welcome New Teachers
Over the Winter Break, Edge held a week long new Teacher Training! All prospective teachers must complete 10 hours of training, as well as 20 hours of "shadow" training before being ready to teach gymnastics classes at Edge. Kids' Night Out
Join us for a fun night of "free play" hide and seek, and relay races! Kids' Night Out is Saturday, January 28th from 6:00-9:00pm for kids Age 6 and up. Pizza and drinks will be served at 7:00pm
Register before noon on January 28th to avoid an additional $5 fee at the door.

Team News
The Edge Optional Team kicked off their season at their intra-squad on December 17th. Three judges came in to critique the gymnasts skills and routines and we received great feedback!
Our optional team's official season is right around the corner! We would like to wish them good luck at their first competition of the season, which will be January 20th-22nd in San Diego!

Acro News
Our Acro Team members will be attending the Region 1 Athlete Clinic at Central Coast Gymnastics in San Luis Obispo January 14th-15th
This is a great opportunity for our athletes to train alongside other acrobatic athletes and to receive critiques from other coaches within our Region. They will have training sessions in balance, dynamic, conditioning, strength, artistry, and tumbling. |
