Sponsor Spotlight
My Medal Display
Have you ever
wondered how to display all the medals your child has earned over
the years? What about your medals that are sitting in a shoe
box in your attic? We have come up with a great option from
those bulking shadow boxes. Every display is custom made when
you order it. All display racks are made of plasma cut steel
with a black powder coated finish. They can be personalized with
any name, year, team, school, you want! Choose from small,
medium or large sizes -- need a custom size? We can do that
too!

More Boys Equipment
Look
out for our newly acquired boys' equipment for Academy Boys and
preschoolers in our recently expanded space!
Why should boys participate in gymnastics?
Both boys and girls benefit from gymnastics for many of the same
reasons, but boys specifically enjoy the following benefits...
~ It's fun and great exercise!
~
Physical fitness development - especially in the areas of strength,
flexibility, agility, balance and coordination
~
Cognitive skill development - such as listening and following
directions
~Life
skills development - particularly self-confidence, teamwork,
responsibility, friendship and sportsmanship
~Accomplishment
of goals - setting goals and working to achieve them
~It's a great developmental activity, whether the goal is
advancement in gymnastics or preparation for another sport.

Is Acro Right For You?
The beauty of
acrobatic gymnastics, in addition to its artistry and intricate
skills, is that there is a place for everyone. Acrobatic gymnastics is great for
athletes of all ages, abilities, sizes and shapes.
There are 5 disciplines in acrobatic gymnastics; women's
pairs, men's pairs, mixed pairs, women's trios, and men's fours. We
utilize different body types to fill the roles of tops, middles,
and bases. You can begin competing in acrobatic gymnastics as
early as the year you are turning 5 years old, and continue
competing into early adulthood. At the earliest levels
there are opportunities to compete at State and Regional
events. At the later levels you can look forward to competing
at Nationals and competing for a spot on the US National Team where
you will have an opportunity to travel and compete
internationally. There's something for everyone!

Preschool Program News
Healthy Snack Ideas for Preschool
Aged Children
A preschooler
participating in a gymnastics program can benefit greatly by eating
healthy foods before and after their class. Many parents enroll
their preschoolers into a gymnastics class because they are full of
energy and need an outlet. But often, many preschoolers fall short
of their energy and strength before class is over. Providing a
healthy snack before their class can improve their attention span,
endurance, and strength to name a few. Try to avoid the convenient,
packaged snacks that are often full of preservatives and unhealthy
additives. Below, you will find 6 simple and healthy snack ideas
for you to follow:
Fresh
Fruit Be
creative and make fruit salad, fruit kabobs on a pretzel stick, or
a yogurt and fruit parfait.
Dairy
Products such
as cheese, yogurt, milk, and cottage cheese. Cut cheese into fun
shapes with small cookie cutters and eat with whole grain crackers.
String cheese is also a convenient alternative. Add fruit to yogurt
or cottage cheese.
Whole
Grain Breads and Muffins add carbohydrates and
fiber into their diet. Some examples are whole grain crackers,
bagels, pita breads and tortillas. Spread some peanut butter, soy
spread, sunflower spread or cream cheese to add variety and flavor.
Make a trail mix of their favorite snacks by adding whole grain
cereals, pretzels, dried fruit or nuts.
Vegetables Encourage vegetables by
blanching them, or offering a bit of ranch dressing or vegetable
dip. Ants on a log is a popular snack that includes a celery stick,
peanut butter or cream cheese and raisins.
Eggs provide a 4-year old with
almost one-third of their protein requirements for the day. Egg
varieties include hard boiled, scrambled eggs with cheese or an egg
sandwich.
Drinks drinking water,
milk, fruit smoothies or juice with no added sugar will keep your
preschooler hydrated. Kids are recommended to drink 6-8 glasses of
water a day.
